Ha collaborato con i più importanti jazzisti italiani ed europei, con frequenti incursioni anche negli Stati Uniti dove ha fatto parte dell’Orchestra di Gil Evans e della Electric Bebop Band di Paul Motian. Il personalissimo stile di Tonolo è più che riconoscibile, asciutto, ma dotato di un lirismo profondo.
Tonolo has collaborated with the most important Italian and European jazz musicians since he was young. He frequently spends periods in the United States, where he was part of the Gil Evans Orchestra and the Electric Bebop Band with Paul Motian. Tonolo’s immensely personal style is more than recognizable: blunt, but bestowed with profound lyricism.
